Ancient Egypt Judgment of the Dead
Happy New Year!!!! Because of the long break, we are beginning the week with a review of Egypt to remind students of the concepts that we've been learning about. We did a worksheet labeled SPRITE GAL review of Egypt where students categorize facts about the Egyptian civilization into the subjects of Society, Political, Religious, Economic, etc. In each category, there is a space to tell what the BIG IDEA is = the most important and transforming concept for that category....
For example: the big idea about Geography is that Egypt was surrounded by deserts making them ISOLATED. Because they were protected like this, they weren't constantly attacked or conquered like Mesopotamia was. This allowed them to build a thriving civilization uninterrupted for thousands of years.
The homework is to finish this worksheet :)

After a quick review of important Egyptian pharaohs -- Hatshepsut, Akhenaton, Tutankhamun, and Ramses the Great, we watched a few videos on Edmodo and worked on a review Crossword about Ancient Egypt. Most of the questions on the crossword are found in our textbook.
I didn't check the homework but I will collect the SPRITE GAL review on Wednesday. Study hard tonight and finish the crossword as a good review of our Egypt concepts!!!!!!

We took our Chapter 5 Test on Edmodo and with the remainder of the class time, we continued work on the Egypt Podcast or Book Creator project that we began before the break. These projects will be due on Thurs/Fri. See IN CLASS 12/14/16 for more details on what's expected from this project.
Thursday/Friday, 1/7/16 & 1/8/16
Today, we had the entire class period to finish our projects on Egypt. Students worked on their podcast or the book creator iPad app to tell about each lesson in Chapter 5.
