Happy Monday everyone.

Just a quick reminder here!!!
  • Keep all your work in the Social Studies folder
  • if you do on paper, take a picture with your phone and put in the Social Studies folder
  • You don't have to email or SHARE your work with me, I can SEE it in the Folder :)
  • We will do a ZOOM class on Wednesday at 9am to 10am where we can video chat together...I'll post the link and the GUIDELINES tomorrow

Okay, here we go and thanks for your patience and hard work, I really appreciate it and I try hard to make our work doable and NOT overwhelming :)

  1. ​Please read pages 234 to 235 about the City State in Greece
  2. Then, please answer this question on a sheet of paper:  Why did Greek government develop separately in a CITY-STATE and NOT A COUNTRY?  To answer, think about their Geography.  If you can't answer fully yet, then wait and complete the next step

  4. You should be able to tell a few things about each government type:  MONARCHY, OLIGARCHY, TYRANNY, and DEMOCRACY

REMINDER:  All work goes into your Social Studies Folder so I can grade it.  If completed on paper, take a picture with your camera and put in SS folder.

Today, we'll dive deeper into Greek Government and those 4 government systems we found about yesterday.
  1. Please read the following pages of the History Alive book
  2. PLEASE WRITE NOTES ON PAPER.  I would like to see 5 important facts about each government:  Monarchy, Oligarchy, Tyranny, and Democracy.
  3. Prepare to discuss on our Zoom meeting on Wednesday at 9am

  • Hey guys some guidelines for Wednesday morning's Zoom video conferencing at 9:00am here:
    • ​No pajamas, pretend we're in school
    • Seated at a table or desk
    • Microphone is turned off unless I call on you
    • Hand signals are great!  Thumbs up, Nod, shake your head, raise your hand to be called on and listening
    • Make sure you're in a location free of distraction, sound, and interference so you can focus
    • Have your Government Notes ready!
    • Let's connect and be able to check in

Thanks for a great video chat yesterday!

Today and Friday, we're learning about 2 different Greek city-states:  Athens and Sparta.
  1. Today please READ these pages about Athens and Sparta to the RIGHT
  2. There's a lot of information so don't get overwhelmed!!! 
  3. SCAN for answers and write 2 or 3 great sentences for each section in the notes ON GOOGLE DOC OR PAPER, you choose!  There's a worksheet to help to the right

  5. Now, Feel free to do Friday's lesson too if you have time, or just wait until tomorrow, it's a fun project on Adobe Spark

Friday 4/2

Now, we'll use that information about the CITY-STATES of Athens and Sparta and create an Adobe Spark video just like we've done before!
