Monday, april 11, 2016We took a day here to revise and edit all of our Greeks Book pages. Students took some time to finish pages that hadn't been finished and add to any pages that needed editing.
tuesday, 4/12/16We are creating a page about MYTHOLOGY today. Students read the textbook page 362 and our Greeks Book page 64 and 65 to understand some of the Greek beliefs and use of Mythology. Here are some of the things they need to include on this page:

Today, students worked in a collaborative group reading a handout on 4 government systems that happened in Greece. Monarchy, Oligarchy, Tyranny, Democracy. Then, they described each government system on the worksheet we used to classify each. If students didn't finish the worksheet, it was homework.
Here are the copies of that handout students read in class:

thursday/friday 4/14 & 4/15
We began by rereading the above handout on Government systems in Greece. Students then created copied my Google Slide from Edmodo on Government and we did a jigsaw activity where each student created a page about one of the government systems, for example, student A became an expert on Monarchy, student B became an expert on Aristocracy, etc. We then discussed each government system.
Then, we began work on the next page in our Greeks Book: GOVERNMENT. We had roughly 45 minutes to work on this page that must include the following terms -- DIRECT DEMOCRACY, POLIS, MONARCHY, ARISTOCRACY, OLIGARCHY, TYRANTS, ATHENS, AND SOLON & CLEISTHENES.

And, I'll keep this great example of an awesome Greeks Book Project up here for your viewing :)
