thursday/friday 5/19 & 5/20
We discussed the Legacy of the Greeks from Chapter 12 and viewed a great video showing how Alexander conquered most of the known world but also brought the culture of the Greeks to all these conquered lands. Science and Technology, Philosophy, Art, Architecture, language, food, and dress. It further shows that even though Alexander didn't rule with democracy, he did understand the incredible merits when free men share ideas freely and are free to express and create in that environment.......that it was possible for one king to rule the whole world. Wow!!!!! Pretty powerful stuff.
When we finished the video, students opened the link to a Google Slide template on Edmodo and began work on a Google Slide about Lesson 1 and 2 of chapter 13 Rome. All the instructions are in this template. Students just click File and Make a copy and they are off to the races. We'll finish this on Monday so it's not homework.
