Monday, may 2, 2016We talked about how to look at the Persian Wars without seeing it as just bad guy vs. good guy. Then, we completed a worksheet that tracked the major events of the Persian Wars and who won each battle and how/why. Here is the Greeks book page if you didn't finish the worksheet...
tuesday, 5/2/16We turned in our Greeks Book today and then worked on the Pericles worksheet tracking the life of the famous leader of Athens and then the Peloponnesian War. Make sure to complete the homework assignment on Edmodo tonight.

Today, we started a project where students get into collaborative groups and will CREATE a project of their OWN CHOICE to ILLUSTRATE all of Chapter 12. The checklist of things they will need to cover is on a Google Doc that I shared out to students found on the button below. Some examples of project ideas are: a podcast, a rap song, a newscast, a book creator, a Powtoon, a term paper (several essays put together), a Comic Life filmstrip, a song parody, etc. Any creative way of answering our ESSENTIAL QUESTION is welcome!!!!
Here's the ESSENTIAL QUESTION:
What were the major achievements of Ancient Greece and HOW did they contribute to the Modern World? AND Why do we study Ancient Cultures and Civilizations?

thursday/friday 4/28 & 4/29
We worked on the Project for the entire period. Students should make SURE they are checking the CHECKLIST above so they are learning everything from the Chapter. Also, use the following daily journal to LOG everything they are doing day to day.
And, I'll keep this great example of an awesome Greeks Book Project up here for your viewing :)
