I reviewed the concept of BC/AD and BCE and CE with students at the beginning of class.
Then, we completed the Lascaux Cave painting activity where we brainstormed about this famous painting. Each student group developed questions that we could ask about the painting that might lead to more understanding about it and the people who painted it.
This models how historians start with questions and try to figure out ancient events, people, and artifacts. Anything unfinished is homework :)

Today, we'll move from the Paleolithic Age to the Neolithic age and study the SHIFT from Hunter Gatherers to Farmers. Very important change in human history.
Students used a worksheet to read, brainstorm, and collect all vocab, ideas and concepts belonging to HUNTER GATHERERS on one side and of FARMERS on the other side If you have time, check this video about the "Ice Man" that we studied in class. It's a great look into how Archaeologists find out about these ancient people! edpuzzle.com/media/5babe091d4c70240ca34850a And, here's a video about the Paleolithic and Neolithic ages we just studied! edpuzzle.com/media/5ba6941e0b1719404d796d24 |
