The Minoans

The Minoans are technically the first civilization of Greeks.  They happened to inhabit the island of Crete so our textbook does not talk about them.  But they are so important in history, I think it's very valuable to see who they were and it's where the story of King Minos and the Minotaur happened as well!!!!!

Here's some of the Greeks Book pictures to help you out. :)

The Mycenaeans

The Mycenaeans are the first Greek civilization on the "mainland" of Greece.  They were located on the Peloponnesus (the southern peninsula of the mainland) and their capital city was located at Mycenae.  They contributed to the downfall of the Minoans and were the Greeks who fought in the Trojan War.
