For this chapter, I'm splitting the class into 3 groups: BLUE, YELLOW, AND ORANGE. I'm working on focusing my energies helping each student get precisely the help they need in finishing the semester strong and doing well on the Final Exam.
Today, according to group:
BLUE - complete the worksheet on Chapter 7, lesson 1, finish for homework
YELLOW/ORANGE - take notes with teacher on Chapter 7, lesson 1 and complete the Monsoon Worksheet for homework
Any absences follow the YELLOW/ORANGE group!
We reviewed Lesson 1 a little bit and then began to learn about Lesson 2 and Hinduism. We completed the Chapter 7, lesson 2 worksheet and anything unfinished should be done for homework.
Here are the instructions for class today:
First fill out the India Map using the instructions on the worksheet.
After you complete your map, watch these couple videos and fill out the table on the back of your worksheet. Listen carefully for the information and remember you can find some of this information in the textbook.
Also, they speak really fast in the video so feel free to rewind and rewatch to get more info!
Thursday/Friday 1/12 and 1/13
Today, we worked on the Chapter 7, lesson 2 notes. There was a worksheet to guide students and I guided students through the basics of the religion of Hinduism. We meditated and did some yoga in class to reinforce the practices that Hinduism believes brings people closer to god.
We finished the class by doing a CLOSE READ of a primary source document from the Bhagavad Gita. Very difficult text but we walked through each sentence in a whole group and discussed it to make meaning of this complex sacred text of Hinduism. Your students did REALLY WELL!!!!
