PictureGoodbye to Mesopotamia and Hello Egypt!
We'll be watching a video that is posted on Edmodo and wrapping up our chapter on Mesopotamia.  After the video, students will fill out the Egypt map worksheet (make sure you are NEAT and follow the instructions carefully!)

​Tuesday, 12/8/15

Today, we worked on a Trading Diary for Egypt.  Students compiled facts from our textbook about the daily life of Egyptians and their reliance on the Nile River for sustenance.  Then, they wrote a Journal or Diary about a trip up or down the Nile as an Egyptian Trader using all the information they learned about life on the Nile.

wednesday, 12/9/15

Students watched 2 videos about the Nile River on Edmodo and read about Hieroglyphs.  Then, they completed a worksheet activity about Egyptian Hieroglyphs using what they learned.  Below, you will find the classwork file.

Wednesday homework

Thursday/Friday, 12/10/15

Today, we reviewed Chapter 5, lesson 2 (we went thru it pretty quick!) and then moved on to lesson 3 where Egypt's political history begins and the first kings begin to build pyramids.  We then watched a great video about the building of the Great Pyramid at Giza by King Khufu.  Here is the link to watch the video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwKtH6FEZqg
